Walter Bahr 1927-2018

walter bahr Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association mourns the passing of U.S. Soccer legend Walter Bahr. He passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the age of 91. Bahr was the last living member of the U.S.  National team that upset heavily favored England, 1-0, at the 1950 World Cup in Brazil. He had the assist on Joe Gaetjens’ winning goal. He had 19 appearances for the U.S. National team from 1948 to 1957. He coached at Frankfort High School, Temple University and Penn State University. Coach Bahr was inducted into the PSCA Hall of Fame in 2008. Coach Bahr was one of the great players and coaches in United States soccer history!
